Workshop Craftsmanship
Making a leather object involves a sequence of precise steps. Each contributes to its balance, strength and the way it will age.
The material
Leathers are selected according to their origin, tanning method, feel and behaviour over time. The choice depends as much on the object’s purpose as on its visual character.
Construction
Every piece is designed, refined and tested personally by Marc. Thicknesses, reinforcements and assemblies are adapted to create an object that is functional, balanced and durable.
Stitching
Hand-sewn pieces use the saddle stitch, worked with two needles and linen thread. This traditional technique creates a strong, regular seam.
Finishing
The edges are prepared and finished by hand. These stages require several successive passes to achieve a clean, even surface that feels pleasant to the touch.
Time
A leather object is not intended to remain unchanged. It evolves through contact with the hand, light and daily use. This transformation is an integral part of its design.
